GOP must re-examine itself after. Tea Party candidates, primary surprises:
From FoxNews’, the Journal Editorial Report with Paul Gigot:
http://video.foxnews.com/v/4323647/lessons-from-primary-surprises/
For a Republican party of old ideas, their new reality hit home when a group of activists that the GOP in Texas were originally refusing a seat at the convention table won the chairmanship by a landslide. Steve Munisteri handily beat the entrenched insider candidate Cathie Adams and the time came to open up or shutdown. With most newcomers to the elephant party overtly Tea Partier or 9-12ers, the GOP has lots of explaining to do. But with more political races within the GOP’s own ranks being won by those coming out of this new breed of revolutionary party, we may see the demise of the Grand Old Party and the birth of a Grand Awakened Party.
It’s been contemplated to bring the Tea Party into a legitimate political party, but it sees we are doing quite well by working from within the party of Lincoln who abolished slavery. We must bring the Constitution forward by taking people back to the simplicity of the divinely inspired document that is more life directives than prose… living simply by paying as we go and spending only as we need while limiting the federal government to a part time body, who settles disputes between states and providing a professional military to protect our borders, as it was originally intended.
Our goals are simple, but the road will be hard. We need to live that way ourselves, then find like-minded individuals who have the wherewithal to stand firm against temptations, evil attacks from our rivals and the deceptions of the media. In doing so we can all fight city hall, now overtaken by tyrants and cheats.

Foxnews.com Reports:
66 Days to Decide: Voters in West Virginia, Louisiana Decide Senate Primaries
Popular West Virginia Democratic Gov. Joe Manchin easily won his party’s nomination and will face Republican primary winner John Raese (RAY’-see) in the race for the U.S. Senate seat held by the late Robert C. Byrd.
In Louisiana, meanwhile, Incumbent Sen. David Vitter has easily won the Republican nomination and will face Democratic primary winner Rep. Charlie Melancon (muh-LAWN’-suhn) in a U.S. Senate race in Louisiana.
Time is growing close and we need to see more victories this Fall to make a big difference. We cannot become complacent and hope that the next Presidential election in 2012 will be the answer. The progressive minions can destroy our country before another President can start any work. It is the Congress that makes laws and levies taxes. We must stop the rot now before the cancer further devastates the lives of our kids.
Every family and individual must do everything they can between now and Nov. 2nd to restore our country’s constitution, values and way of life. We can all make a difference even if you are not yet of voting age. Become fluent with the issues and educate your friends. Get on the phones, walk the streets and invite your friends to a tea party meeting. Host a “Back to School” or “After Work” party and have a night of discussion. There are many ways to educate and invigorate a friend, hungry and thirsty for the knowledge to wipe out this group that is transforming their way of life into national disgrace, poverty, and dependency on government rather than ourselves, our friends and our God.
It’s time to take back the government and our country!!! But we all have to do it or it won’t mean a thing.

In a FoxNews article entitled:”Defense Department Rejects 4 States’ Military Voter Plans, Grants 5 States Waivers“, examines states requests “to apply for a waiver from the 45-day ballot requirement”.
The MOVE Act requires states to send absentee ballots to military and overseas voters covered by the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act no later than 45 days before an election for federal office starting with this fall’s elections, election. In accordance with the MOVE Act, states are allowed to apply for a waiver from the 45-day ballot requirement.
The states denied exemptions to the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act were Alaska, Colorado, Hawaii and Wisconsin, as well as the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands. Waivers were granted to Delaware, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, Washington.
U.S. Department of Justice spokeswoman Xochitl Hinojosa said the department was working with those denied to bring them into compliance. The department will file lawsuits against any state that doesn’t voluntarily comply, she said.
Many of these legislators are Democrats who oppose the military, because most of our men and women in uniform tend to vote Republican, who strongly support the military. These attempts continue to make it difficult or impossible for active duty personnel to exercise their right to vote “absentee”, which has been explicitly written into current law.
We need to continue to hold our elected officials feet to the fire to uphold the laws which give every American the right to vote, especially for those who sacrifice “everything” to protect those rights.

Hundreds of thousands turn out for the “8.28.10 “Restoring Honor” Rally” benefiting military families who exemplify “Faith, Hope and Charity”.

See Foxnews’ live report: http://video.foxnews.com/v/4323633/thousands-turn-out-for-beck-rally/
The media continually hyped it as a political event. Even those at the other rally that day said again and again that it was a mean spirited attempt to denigrate the memory of Martin Luther King, who gave his famous “I Have a Dream” speech this day in 1963. Glenn Beck’s wife forced him to wear a bullet proof vest. Outsiders that came to protest were taken aback at how peaceful the “church picnic” atmosphere was and remained to join in the “patriotic” and “spiritual” atmosphere that the crowd and speakers exuded. Even the Smithsonian Museum called to request items from the, as they called it, “historic” event.
So what happened in Washington, D.C. this weekend that caused such mixed reactions? A call to Americans to “Restore Honor” to our lives by bringing “Faith”, “Hope” and “Charity” back to this nation. Also 3 men were honored as heroes who exemplified these traits throughout their lives. Then an astounding thing took place. As Glenn was quoted as saying, “An amazing spiritual moment”, when “240 preachers, pastors, priests, rabbis, imams, you name it lined up on the stage that represent a small, tiny, tiny fraction” of his new “Black Robe Brigade”.
The most poignant moment from the rally was when Alveda King, the niece of the late Martin Luther King, (who though scared to death, refused to wear a bullet proof vest) and Glenn (whose wife begged him to wear a vest) prayed for several moments before her speech.

Sarah Palin spoke as a keynote speaker at the event. According to the washingtonpost.com, “the former Alaska governor said she was speaking not as a politician but as the mother of a combat veteran. Evoking the legacies of civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. and former presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, Palin called on Americans to restore traditional values to the country by celebrating those who have fought for the nation’s freedoms.”
“We must not fundamentally transform America, as some would want,” Palin said at Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally in Washington. “We must restore America and restore her honor.”
“Something that is beyond man is happening,” Beck said. “America today begins to turn back to God.” He also later stated that “he didn’t want to make this day about Obama”, instead focusing on “knowing”… “that we all can make a difference.” He mentioned his “40 day and night pledge” but later admitted that he decided not to elaborate at the time because it would make the speech about Obama, rather than the individual. He later remarked in his show that the pledge was based on the Martin Luther King pledge of not bringing disgrace to the cause by being violent and to do everything possible to bring to the fore all that is wrong with the country and to restore our freedoms. This of course refers to our nearing the final 40 days before the election.
Will you take the 40 day and night pledge and help “Restore Hope” to America ?

Below is a letter that went out from the Dallas Tea Party alerting us to outrageous behavior by our own Senator John Cornyn (R-TX). Immediately following the first letter is an update, and then following that is a recommended response if you contact Cornyn’s office.
Fellow Tea Party Patriots:
To many reformers, Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski is a poster child for what’s wrong with the Republican Party.
In 2008, the taxpayer-watchdog group Citizens Against Government Waste issued Murkowski a Lifetime rating of 54 percent–a score that put her five points ahead of Arlen Specter’s 49 percent rating. National Taxpayers’ Union was a bit more generous to Murkowski, awarding her a ‘C’.
On immigration, NumbersUSA rates Murkowski a C- overall, with a D on reducing illegal immigration at the borders and an F on reducing illegal immigration rewards.
Given this track record, it was no surprise that Murkowski drew a conservative challenger in the Republican primary this year–but many considered it a pleasant surprise that she found herself behind in the polls on election day:
With 100 percent of precincts reporting, [challenger Joe] Miller stood at 47,027 votes to Murkowski’s 45,359 votes.
Sadly, it’s no surprise that the National Republican Senatorial Committee, headed up by Texas’ own Senator John Cornyn, is dispatching the lawyers to save Murkowski’s hide:
Sean Cairncross, the general counsel of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, is headed to Alaska at the request of Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R) to help provide guidance to the GOP incumbent who finds herself trailing attorney Joe Miller (R) by roughly 1,600 votes.
Cairncross will spend several days on the ground in Alaska as Murkowski and her campaign prepare for the counting of as many as 16,000 absentee ballots — a process expected to start next Tuesday and continue through early September.
Committee sources insisted that too much should not be read into Cairncross’ presence in Alaska — only that the NRSC is an incumbent-retention committee and, as such, provides assistance when Senators ask for it…
Murkowski’s hope lies in the 16,000 absentee ballots that had been requested in advance of Tuesday’s primary. Slightly less than half that number — 7,600 — had been returned.
If you’re one of the remaining few STILL donating to the National Republican Senatorial Committee, you should know that your hard-earned dollars are being spent to save establishment-backed incumbents like Lisa Murkowski (and before her, Arlen Specter and Charlie Crist) from primary challenges brought by grassroots conservatives.
The situation in Alaska is a prime example of the reasons why so many conservatives have shifted their donations away from Cornyn’s NRSC and over to groups like Jim DeMint’s Senate Conservatives Fund and The Club for Growth.
If you have any “guidance” for Senator Cornyn on this issue, you can reach him as follows:
Washington DC
517 Hart Senate Office Bldg.
Washington, DC 20510
Main: 202-224-2934
Fax: 202-228-2856

5001 Spring Valley Road, Suite 1125 E
Dallas, TX 75244
Main: 972-239-1310
Fax: 972-239-2110
Here’s a follow-up excerpt from Dallas Tea Party:
On primary election night in Alaska, Republican challenger Joe Wilson bested Republican incumbent Senator Lisa Murkowski by almost 1,700 votes in a stunning upset. The race isn’t over, though. As many as 20,000 provisional and absentee ballots remain to be counted. If Murkowski’s team of lawyers can succeed in qualifying enough pro-Murkowski ballots and disqualifying enough pro-Wilson ballots, Murkowski can yet win this election. Murkowski’s legal effort is being aided by Texas’ own John Cornyn, who’s sending legal assistance via the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
And here’s a bit of advice for those of you choosing to contact Cornyn:
“When we call, we need to remind Cornyn of the NRSC’s clearly stated mission:
About:
The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) is the only political committee solely dedicated to electing Republicans to the U.S. Senate.
What We Do:
The NRSC provides invaluable support and assistance to current and prospective Republican U.S. Senate candidates in the areas of budget planning, election law compliance, fundraising, communications tools and messaging, research and strategy.
It says nothing about helping incumbents stay in power. They need to let the People speak for themselves in primaries and stop meddling.”

Thank you to Tom Moore for condensing the following information for our members…
The population of Texas exceeds 24 million people and is second only to California. According to the Census Bureau, 10 of the 25 fastest growing counties are in Texas, and Dallas and Tarrant Counties are among them. The biggest contributing factor to Texas’ growth is net migration, both domestic and foreign. Texas also has a high birth rate versus deaths. When the federal government re-apportions the 435 members of the U.S. House, Texas population growth will entitle Texas to 3 or 4 new Congressional Districts. The State Redistricting process is about to begin and will be a major focus for the legislature when it meets next year during its 82nd session. The official hearing panels include three members each from the Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence Committees and they will assume joint responsibilities with the Redistricting Committee. Other members may attend and participate. For those wishing to attend, here is a list of the hearing locations with dates and times.
Dallas – September 20, 12:00 pm
George Allen Courthouse, Central Jury Room
600 Commerce Street, Dallas, Texas, 75202

Haven’t heard much about Shirley in the news lately…..maybe this is why, huh?
http://beforeitsnews.com/story/110/024/Is_There_More_to_Sherrods_Dismissal.html
Andrew Breitbart is a media genius.
He proved it originally with his brilliant handling of the ACORN ‘hooker’ scandal which he skillfully manipulated so that the corrupt media was forced, against its will, to broadcast corruption in one of Obama’s most powerful political support groups. But Breitbart’s handing of that affair is nothing compared to his brilliant manipulation of the Shirley Sherrod ‘white farmer’ scandal.
It all began last Monday, July 22, 2010. As the country watched in horror, Breitbart released a snippet of a tape on his “Big Government” site which showed an obscure black female official of the Dept. of Agriculture laughing to a roomful of NAACP members about how she’d discriminated against a destitute white farmer and refused to give him the financial aid he desperately needed. As she smirked to the room, she’d sent him instead to a white lawyer – ‘one of his own kind’ – for help. The black woman was Shirley Sherrod – and almost immediately she became the center of a firestorm of controversy which exploded throughout the country. Within a day of the release of that infamous tape, the head of the Dept. of Agriculture, spurred on by Obama, demanded – and received – Sherrod’s resignation. Breitbart had won.
But then seemingly Breitbart’s actions began to explode in his face. As Sherrod screamed in protest, FOX News released the entire text of her speech last March to the NAACP. And there on tape Sherrod was shown supposedly repenting of her racism against a white farmer and instead championing his fight to win funds to keep his farm afloat. Within hours of that entire tape being revealed, the entire world turned against Andrew Breitbart. Conservatives throughout the country were enraged that he’d endangered their reputations by releasing a ‘doctored’ tape. Breitbart, they thundered, had dealt a fatal blow to the conservative media. I confess that I also was horrified at what I saw as the clumsiness and stupidity of Breitbart in ‘doctoring’ a tape to make a supposedly innocent woman look guilty. But now I discover I have been as guilty of haste to judgment of Breitbart as the Dept. of Agriculture was of Ms. Sherrod.
Only now am I realizing the real purpose for Breitbart’s release of that tape snippet. It was to allow him to cunningly trick the media into exposing one of the most shocking examples of corruption in the federal government – a little known legal case called “Pigford v. Glickman”.
http://pajamasmedia.com/zombie/2010/07/27/pigford-v-glickman-86000-claims-from-39697-total-farmers/?singlepage=true
“In 1997, 400 African-American farmers sued the United States Department of Agriculture, alleging that they had been unfairly denied USDA loans due to racial discrimination during the period 1983 to 1997.” The case was entitled “Pigford v. Glickman” and in 1999, the black farmers won their case. The government agreed to pay each of them as much as $50,000 to settle their claims.
But then on February 23 of this year, something shocking happened in relation to that original judgment. In total silence, the USDA agreed to release more funds to “Pigford”. The amount was a staggering $1.25 billion. This was because the original number of plaintiffs – 400 black farmers – had now swollen in a class action suit to include a total of 86,000 black farmers throughout America .
There was only one teensy problem. The United States of America doesn’t have 86,000 black farmers. According to accurate and totally verified census data, the total number of black farmers throughout America is only 39,697. Oops.
Well, gosh, how on earth did 39,697 explode into 86,000 claims? And how did $50,000 explode into $1.25 billion? Well, folks, you’ll just have to ask the woman who not only spearheaded this case because of her position in 1997 at the “Rural Development Leadership Network” but whose family received the highest single payout (approximately $13 million) from that action – Shirley Sherrod. Oops again.
http://beforeitsnews.com/story/110/024/Is_There_More_to_Sherrods_Dismissal.html
Yes, folks. It appears that Ms. Sherrod had just unwittingly exposed herself as the perpetrator of one of the biggest fraud claims in the United States – a fraud enabled solely because she screamed racism at the government and cowed them into submission.
But wait, it gets even more interesting. Ms. Sherrod has also exposed the person who aided and abetted her in this race fraud. As it turns out, the original judgment of “Pigford v. Glickman” in 1999 only applied to a total of 16,000 black farmers. But in 2008, a junior Senator got a law passed to reopen the case and allow more black farmers to sue for funds. The Senator was Barack Obama.
Because this law was passed in dead silence and because the woman responsible for spearheading it was an obscure USDA official, American taxpayers did not realize that they had just been forced in the midst of a worldwide depression to pay out more than $1.25 billion to settle a race claim… That’s BILLION, not million… OF YOUR TAX DOLLARS
But Breitbart knew. And last Monday, July 22, 2010, he cleverly laid a trap which Sherrod – and Obama – stumbled headfirst into which has now resulted in the entire world discovering the existence of this corrupt financial judgment. Yes, folks – Breitbart is a genius.
As for Ms. Sherrod? Well, she’s discovered too late that her cry of ‘racism’ to the media which was intended to throw the spotlight on Breitbart has instead thrown that spotlight on herself – and her corruption.
Sherrod has vanished from public view. Her ‘pigs’, it seems, have come home to roost.
