Folks, we’ve got a great meeting planned for March 12th, 2012! It’s a “Movie Night” meeting, but not at our usual meeting location. We’ll be showing the movie in a theater!
NE Tarrant Tea Party Presents:
AGENDA: Grinding America Down
AND
Rafael Cruz, refugee from Cuba
Harkins Theater: Southlake Town Square, 1450 Plaza Pl.
Monday, March 12
Theater doors open at 6:00p.m.
(a sign & theater personnel will direct you to the correct theater)
AGENDA begins at 6:30p.m.
Cost: FREE! (donations accepted to offset cost of theater)
“AGENDA is the most powerful expose of the communist, socialist, progressive attempt to take over America produced so far. This is not a conspiracy documentary about a secret collusion beween two or more conspirators to affect some nefarious change, but rather a clear look at the publicized agenda of the hard left and shows how they have effectively implemented that public agenda. The documentary starts with a quote from Joseph Stalin, ‘America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within.’ Then, the documentary shows the steps the Communist Party said were necessary to destroy America’s patriotism, morality and faith. Incredibly, they were able to achieve their agenda.
This clear expose alone makes this documentary worth watching. More than that, the documentary presents the connections between the different communist, socialist, progressive organizations with great clarity and shows how they implemented their agenda in each area of life. AGENDA is absolutely brilliant for its well-researched understanding to the issues. It is must viewing. AGENDA is a great documentary.”
Wow! Pretty impressive, huh? We’ve heard from patriot groups all over the country that this is a “must see” movie and that’s why we’re bringing it to you. In addition, after the documentary, we’ll hear speaker, Rafael Cruz. Rafael fled Cuba when he was 18 and will speak on a personal level about Cuba, the AGENDA and what he sees going on in America today. It’s gonna be a great night!
Be sure and go early to purchase your popcorn and drinks before the movie begins!
Hope to see you there!

NE Tarrant Tea Party wants to give you every opportunity to cast an educated vote in the Primary Election. We are thrilled to offer you our Thursday Night Debate Series. We’re hosting debates in the hottest races in our area on Thursday nights throughout the season.
Unfortunately, several incumbents have no interest in visiting with tea party folks. This includes Vicki Truitt, Todd Smith and Kenny Marchant. For those races, we’ll still do a Q&A with the challenger so that you can hear what the issues are and how the candidate plans to address them, but those will occur either during an NETTP monthly meeting or tacked onto a different debate. Each event will include time for pre-written questions, as well as questions from the audience.
Events will last one hour from 7-8pm. Names in bold font below have confirmed participation. Names in italics have directly stated they will not attend either by telling us so or by ignoring us completely.
- Feb 13: TX House, District 98 – Vicki Truitt (i) vs Giovanni Capriglione TX (Since Truitt has not even responded to our invitation, this will be an interview of Giovanni held during our monthly meeting).
- Mar 15: TX House, District 101 – Matt Krause vs Stephanie Klick (venue TBD) – Redistricting may change the names here, and it may become D93.
- Mar 22: TX House, District 91 – Nash (i) vs Thombs vs Sapp vs Scoma vs Carlson (venue TBD) – Redistricting may change the names here.
- Mar 29: TX Senate, District 9 – Anderson vs Hancock (venue TBD) – These candidates have not yet been invited, but we’ll update attendance plans soon.
- Apr 5: Tarrant County Commissioner – Fickes vs Bickley vs Smith (1060 E Highland, Southlake)
- Apr 12: US Congress, District 24 – Kenny Marchant (i) vs Grant Stinchfield (since Marchant has declined to speak with the tea party, this will be a Q&A session for Grant, followed by a Q&A session for Stickland as listed below).
- Apr 12: TX House, District 92 – Todd Smith (i) vs Jonathan Stickland (since Smith has not even responded to our invitation, this will be a Q&A session for Grant as shown above, followed by a Q&A session for Stickland).
We’ll add in a debate for Senate District 10 if there ends up being more than one candidate running.

Some of you may recall that 2 years ago NETTP put on a fantastic candidate fair, providing voters with the opportunity to speak personally with every candidate before voting. I can’t tell you how empowering it was to go to the polls and know each candidate on the ballot! I was able to make an educated and informed decision on public offices that I’d never even heard of prior to getting involved in the tea party! The fair received rave reviews and really put NETTP on the map as a tea party to pay attention to.
This year we were planning to host the same sort of event, but discovered that another group was wanting to host it instead. Knowing how much effort and work it took to pull it off in 2010, we let ‘em!
TCGOP Candidate Fair & Straw Poll
Saturday, February 4
Hurst Convention Center, 1601 Campus Dr, Hurst 76054
1-6pm – meet your candidates and vote in the straw poll
6-6:30pm – straw poll winner ceremony
For more details, click here.
I cannot encourage you strongly enough to attend this fair. There are two reasons to do so…
- It gives you an opportunity to know who to vote for and why. The candidates will not be giving speeches. They’ll be standing at booths and speaking one-on-one with voters who approach them. Think of it as a job interview, and ask them, “Why should I vote for you?” You’ll learn a lot about the issues and the roles of the different offices. And you’ll have the power to decide who best will deal with those issues and perform those roles.
- There will be a straw poll. You’ll have a chance to cast your ballot in each race in Tarrant County, and the winners will have bragging rights that they won the TCGOP Straw Poll! That’s a big deal. If you think the RINOs won’t have their supporters there voting for them, think again. We must as conservatives show up to unite behind the conservative candidates. We most certainly don’t want the RINOs announcing that they have won!
NE Tarrant Tea Party will have a booth at this event, and we need help manning it. We’ll divide volunteers up into several shifts to cover set up, the event itself, and tear down. Another endeavor we are working on (a petition to get term limits on the ballot for the City of Grapevine) also needs volunteers for their booth (Better Grapevine PAC). If you can help with either one, please email heyjuliesue@gmail.com.

NE Tarrant Tea Party meeting
Guest Speaker: Carl Higbie on America, Freedom and the Constitution
Prayer, Pledge and Anthem offered by Matthew McLeod of God’s Country Kids
January 9, 2012, 6:30-8:00pm
$5 dinner served at 6pm (see note below re: free dinner!)
1060 E Highland, Southlake 76092
(bldg 1020 of Highland Meadow Montessori Academy)
Carl Higbie is a military man (can’t say what branch) and author of Battle on the Homefront: A Patriot’s Mission to Save the American Dream. His book is about the Constitution and how those in power want to destroy it, and America as well.

The terrorism of 9-11 served as a ferocious wake-up call for Carl Higbie. After graduating from high school in 2002, he spent a couple of years in college all the while thinking about this nation and what he could do to contribute to it. Carl knew that he not only wanted to serve his country, but more than that, he wanted to be a Navy SEAL.
As Carl puts it, he was a mediocre student and a star wrestler in high school. When he decided to go into the Navy, Carl encountered nothing but discouragement from those in the recruiting office as well as others along the way. As is characteristic of Carl, he did not let the negativism of others stand in his way, and ultimately was admitted into the SEAL training program.
Carl has served two deployments to combat areas in the Middle East, and additionally has served in numerous assignments in other parts of the world. He now serves as a SEAL instructor. In his off hours he owns Tarzan Tree Service in Virginia Beach.

Attention Keller residents: The absence of a majority winner in the Nov 8 election to replace Mitch Holmes on the City Council, Place 5, means that voters will go back to the polls on Dec. 13 for a run-off election. This time, voters will choose between two candidates – John Hoffman and Jackie Black. In the first election, Hoffman garnered 43% of the votes, and Black 39%. Mark your calendars, and don’t forget to vote on Dec. 13!

NE Tarrant Tea Party meeting
Guest Speaker: Gary Aldrich, former FBI Agent
Nov 14, 2011, 6:30-8:00pm
$5 pizza dinner served at 6pm (see note below re: free dinner!)
1060 E Highland, Southlake 76092
(bldg 1020 of Highland Meadow Montessori Academy)
Join us to hear from Gary Aldrich, American Patriot, Entrepreneur and Author of “Unlimited Access – An FBI Agent Inside the Clinton White House“.
On Independence Day 1996, former FBI Agent Gary Aldrich broke the code of silence surrounding the Clinton Administration. He exposed the questionable behavior and serious breaches of national security and attacks an basic American values that permeated the White House during this time.
His subsequent book “Unlimited Access” detailing this, soon entered the New York Times’ bestseller list at #1, and has since been credited as one of the forerunners of the provocative trend in popular conservative books on national affairs. But this success did little to blunt the harsh sting of scorn and criticism that was to be heaped upon Mr. Aldrich. His livelihood, his family’s security, his hard-earned good reputation, and his very life were put on the line on a daily basis in the face of a vociferous maelstrom from the Hard Left who wished to keep the truth about the Clintons, and their real agenda, under wraps.
Mr. Aldrich was able to weather the storm all the stronger though, and went on to release both a political novel, Speak No Evil, and another book of essays, Thunder on the Left, which outlined the Hard Left’s systematically co-option of a political party.
Given Mr. Aldrich’s past experience, he has a particular passion to intercede in the plight of ethical dissenters currently under attack by the media or by a corrupt federal agency or administration.
He continues to appear as an expert witness guest on many talk shows around the nation discussing the Clinton administration, corruption, the FBI, other federal agencies, issues related to law enforcement, and Second Amendment rights.
A 30-yr veteran of the FBI, Mr. Aldrich specialized in white collar crime, including fraud and political corruption. For five years prior to retiring, Mr. Aldrich served under former President Bush and Clinton in a national security role. In addition, he was assigned to the US Senate and House, working closely with elected officials on a variety of issues.
In January 1998 Mr. Aldrich found The Patrick Henry Center for Individual Liberty, a non-profit foundation dedicated to assisting whistleblowers by protecting their First Amendment rights. He is now helping those who want to engage in political dissent through the Tea Party Movement.
Please join us on Monday night to hear Mr. Aldrich speak to us about the ongoing attacks on our liberties while giving us the keys to protecting ourselves from them – all from his Washington DC perspective.
