Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum will visit NETTP on Saturday!

NE Tarrant Tea Party proudly hosts

Rick Santorum
Candidate for President of the United States of America

Saturday, October 8
11:30am

(please arrive early to get settled before our guest arrives)

1060 E Highland
Southlake TX  76092

Rick Santorum is a former two-term Congressman and three-term U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania.  Considered a strong social and fiscal conservative, Santorum was called the winner of the Sept. 22 Fox News/Google Republican Debate by a number of political reporters after he aggressively attacked Texas Gov. Rick Perry for his views on illegal immigration.

Their exchange was one of the most memorable highlights of the debate, resulting in Gov. Perry stating that anyone who objected to providing in-state tuition to illegals doesn’t “have a heart.”

Santorum then interjected that students that are illegally in this country should not be able to go to a college or university subsidized by taxpayers.

More information about Rick Santorum can be found at https://www.ricksantorum.com/.

I know it’s late notice, folks, but I’m pretty sure you’re gonna want to attend this event!  Please tell everyone you know and let’s pack the house!  Everyone is invited.

NETTP does not endorse Rick Santorum nor any other candidate for President.  We do, however, wish for all voters to seriously study each candidate very carefully based not only on their campaign promises, but more importantly on their previous actions.  Do your homework and vote wisely.

See you there,
Julie McCarty

“Let’s Be Honest About Gov. Perry”

8.21.11

Right now is the vetting season in politics. This is the time for us to make sure that our country does not make the same mistake twice in voting for a President who has not been properly vetted.

We citizens are doing the right thing to look at each candidate’s background, voting records, policies, preferences, philosophy of life, and personal positions on important issues. Then after taking a truthful look at a candidate’s full profile, we can make our decision as to whether we believe he or she would make a good President.

Those who are criticizing researchers who are uncovering the facts behind various candidates are actually repeating the same mistake that occurred when researchers tried to educate the public about Obama and his disastrous positions during the run-up to his Presidential election.

Those researchers were vilified; and the American people were so star-struck by Obama (who has turned out to be the essence of the “Manchurian candidate) that they voted with their emotions instead of with logical, informed reasoning. The United States is now having to live out the disastrous consequences of that wrongful, emotion-based decision at the ballot box.

Voting blind is not a smart thing. It is like throwing dice and hoping the right numbers come up.

I have grown concerned as of late about the blind acceptance that some people want to direct toward Gov. Rick Perry and his record.  Because I published an article that told the “good and the bad” about Gov. Perry (11 positives and 11 negatives), I have been criticized by people on my side of the aisle who have said that my efforts will end up helping Obama get re-elected. (I have posted my article at the bottom of this e-mail.)

I presented 11 positives about Gov. Perry knowing that the liberal news media certainly would not focus on his good points, and Gov. Perry definitely does have some strong attributes.

However, Gov. Perry also has some weaknesses; but what does our side have to hide?  If we really have the best candidate in Gov. Perry, then what have we to hide about his record?  If Gov. Perry is the best person for the Republican nomination, that is great; but we who live in Texas and know certain facts about him (both positive and negative) have the right and the responsibility to share this information with the rest of the country.

Again, we need to remember that this is the vetting season; and our goal must be to put forth the very best candidate possible to defeat Obama. What we do not want is for our candidate to “flame out” in the last couple of weeks leading up to the November 2012 election because at the last minute, voters find out unfavorable information about our Republican candidate.

We also do not want to support a Republican nominee for whom we feel no “fire in the belly.”  To overcome Obama’s series of overreaching decisions that are meant to build up his voter base (e.g., his obvious catering to labor unions and the LGBT community, his recent decision to grant “amnesty” to illegals — all of whom are sure to flood the ballot boxes in the Nov. 2012 election) and to overcome the cheating by the Democrats that is sure to occur at the polls, our side is going to have to produce twice as many votes for our candidate than are technically needed to win.

We Republicans must feel “fire in the belly” for our candidate so that we will get out and walk the blocks and get every possible voter to go to the polls with us.  We have to produce a huge groundswell of support for our candidate. We must not choose another limp candidate such as John McCain for whom many in this country felt no connection and no real passion.

The time to lay out the truth is right now, and we are not being disloyal to the Republicans, conservatives, and independent voters by making sure that fact-based information is shared across the country with the voting public.

Liberty Central – D.C. Reports 8/17/11

Posted August 17th, 2011 by Konni
Good Afternoon Everyone,

Liberty Central is excited to serve as an Ambassador-at-Large to our grassroots friends.  We are continually meeting with conservative leaders and coalition groups, as well as our conservative champions on the Hill to provide a dialogue between grassroots and D.C.  This also enables us to report to you about the current hot topics inside the Beltway:

When Congress returns from recess, the RSC (Republican Study Committee) will add a growth component to its Cut, Cap, Balance initiative.  This will address the tax code, regulations, and energy.

The House Energy & Commerce Committee is developing ideas for spending cuts, as its Chairman, Fred Upton, was just appointed to the deficit ‘Super Committee.’  All Committee reports are due October 14.

Rumors are circulating that Congress is considering a tax increase on commercial aviation on two fronts:  an increase in airline ticket taxes, and implementing a user tax on aircraft take-offs & landings.

Rep. Stephen Fincher recently introduced H. Res. 98, stating the FDA should ‘give the greatest weight in making critical policy decisions to readily available hard science data . . . and avoid paternalistic policy decisions that are not ground in hard science.’  The resolution aims to address the rising trend in the FDA to rely on ‘soft’ science and speculation to drastically increase its regulatory power.

Next week, the administration is heading down to South America to assist Brazil in creating energy jobs and developing the country’s oil and gas resources.  Meanwhile, the administration continues to push regulations that kill American jobs and increase American energy prices.  Today, gas prices are on average 84 cents higher than at this time last year.  Earlier this year, the 2nd largest shallow water driller filed for bankruptcy due to lack of drilling permits.  However, last week a federal judge threw out Obama rules to slow down drilling – reinstating the expedited oil and gas drilling under Bush.

Grassroots At Its Finest

Posted April 1st, 2011 by Julie

Patriots,
NE Tarrant Tea Party is a grassroots organization.  This means that ALL efforts come from everyday people like you and me.  Ideas, tasks, goals… all are managed by the members, not by one leader.  It’s what makes the tea party movement SO effective, and, frankly, so hard to tear down.

But being a grassroots movement only works if the people stay involved!  We have a few members who have really stepped up with some great ideas that they are seeing through.  Here they are.  Please work with them if you can!

  • NETTP member Janna Easton has a goal to get rid of Todd Smith as her State Representative.  (I share this passion, by the way, and I know many of you do too!).  Rather than sit around and wait for someone else to do something about it, she started collecting names and email addresses of those who want to join in this effort.  She’s been in touch with each of them and held meetings.  If you want to be a part of this, please contact her at jeaston4444@commonsensecitizens.net.
  • NETTP member Roger Beatty learned a very inexpensive and effective way to advertise to a targeted audience about Obama.  His goal is to make sure Obama does NOT get re-elected in 2012!  He advertises via Facebook, and he’s looking for others who would be willing to multiply his efforts.  He’ll teach you how.  It will cost $5-$10-$15 or so (you set the amount), and he says the rewarding feeling you get as you watch reactions to your own ad is well worth the money.  It’s a fun, easy, satisfying and effective part to play in saving America.  If you are interested in learning more, contact Roger at 817-488-9162 or Roger.Beatty@commonsensecitizens.net.  Don’t worry about having creative ad skills.  You just have to be able to type.
  • NETTP member Pat Ray heard Glenn Beck’s call for a Mobfest Food Drive on April 21 and she wanted to get involved.  But she can’t do it on her own so she’s developed a plan to involve all those willing to help from NETTP.  She needs volunteers to collect non-perishable food items and then divide and distribute them to unemployment offices, senior centers and needy families.  She says, “As we know, there are many families having a very hard time making money stretch.  If we can help them, then that is what we should do.”  This will require a great many volunteers.  Please bring your food donation to the April 11 meeting or to the Tax Day Tea Party on April 15.  Please ask your friends and neighbors to donate too.  Volunteer to help sort and distribute the food by calling Pat at 817-306-6008 or emailing nutmeger@commonsensecitizens.net.

What I love about all of these ideas are that these people took the initiative to make them happen.  They didn’t come to me and say, “Julie, here’s an idea you should do.”  They said, “Julie, here’s an idea I want to do.”  See the difference?  What are YOU passionate about?  What ideas can YOU make happen?  If it’s one of the above, please volunteer today!  Nothing can get done without YOU getting involved!
Thanks,
Julie McCarty

KBH on oil drilling…

Posted February 25th, 2011 by Julie

Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison sent the following response to a local tea party member who inquired about oil drilling…  Emphasis has been added to highlight key points.  Please note that our guest speaker on May 9 will be discussing this topic in his presentation titled, “The Emerging Oil Crisis – Will it Lead to a New World Order?”

From: Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison <senator@hutchison.senate.gov>
Subject: Constituent Response From Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison
Date: Wednesday, February 23, 2011, 12:00 PM
Dear Friend:
Thank you for contacting me regarding recent oil drilling moratoriums. I welcome
your thoughts and comments.

In response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, President Barack Obama’s
administration imposed a 30-day drilling moratorium on May 6, 2010. On May 28,
2010, the Administration issued a new moratorium on deepwater drilling (considered
to be 500 feet and greater) for an additional six-month period. Less than a month
later, on June 22, 2010, Federal District Court Judge Martin Feldman overturned the
Administration’s moratorium. In his ruling, Judge Feldman stated, “The court is unable
to divine or fathom a relationship between the [Obama administration's] findings and
the immense scope of the moratorium.” The Obama administration chose to ignore the
court and sidestepped our judicial system by issuing a new moratorium for all floating
facilities. While the moratorium was lifted on deepwater exploration, no permits have
been approved for deepwater exploration in the Gulf of Mexico.

We must ensure that a tragedy like the Deepwater Horizon spill never happens
again. However, I agree with Judge Feldman’s decision that the moratorium went too far
in stopping all deepwater drilling. The BP oil spill clearly highlighted a safety concern
that must be carefully investigated. Yet I believe that a blanket moratorium was an
erroneous plan that has hurt our nation’s energy production capability, and cost jobs
throughout the country.
Though the moratorium on new shallow water permits was officially lifted on May
28, 2010, only about two-dozen new shallow water permits have been approved over
the past several months. The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) issued new safety
and environmental requirements for shallow water operators with which the industry is
prepared to comply. However, the DOI has provided little guidance as to how the new
requirements can be satisfied. Without clear guidance on how to meet these standards,
shallow water operators are facing application delays and are being forced to shut down.

On October 12, 2010 President Obama’s administration lifted the deepwater
moratorium, but to date, the DOI has not approved any new deepwater permits.
As with
the shallow water industry, I fear deepwater drilling will also be faced with a de facto
moratorium as a result of delayed permits and confusing regulations. The Administration
must do more to bring back jobs lost through the moratoriums enacted in the Gulf of
Mexico. I will continue to urge Interior Secretary Ken Salazar to resume the permitting
of deepwater activity in a safe and expeditious manner.

It is an economically irresponsible decision to continue to halt offshore exploration
with bureaucratic red-tape. Closing the Gulf of Mexico to drilling has serious
implications for Texas. The Obama administration’s moratorium put at risk American
jobs throughout the Gulf, and has forced some companies to begin to relocate facilities
and assets overseas. The Administration runs the risk of thousands of eliminated jobs

and millions of dollars in lost wages in Texas and across the Gulf states.

I will continue to fight for solutions that do not negatively impact our economy. As
we work on oil spill legislation, please be assured that I will keep your views in mind. I
appreciate hearing from you, and I hope that you will not hesitate to contact me on any
issue that is important to you.

Sincerely,
Kay Bailey Hutchison

NETTP Sound Off: Who Do You Want To Run For President In 2012?

Posted October 14th, 2010 by Julie

Here's what our members are saying (unedited) about their hopes for President in 2012…

I'm not sure yet… too many unknowns…

    - Gov Christie from NJ – (but not going to happen)
    - I'm not sure Sarah Palin is the right choice.. too polarizing
    - Romney – Maybe
    - Huckabee- I think he has some hurdles to get past

No one is standing out for me yet…     ~T.L., Grapevine

I suspect that the reason for "no respose" for presidential candidate is that we are all looking for another Reagan. Perhaps one will shine in the future. All we have as of now is Palin and I don't know if she is strong enough.   ~A.Z., Bedford

Newt Gingrich, Paul Ryan  ~ J.J., Euless

I'm wanting to know more about Paul Ryan and other promising people. I honestly could not vote for Sarah Palin. Like her but just can't wrap my mind around her as President at this point-in-time. Jendal would be good but doubt he could win. ~ N.W., North Richland Hills

My dream ticket:  Congresswoman Michele Bachmann/Congressman, Eric Cantor or Congressman Paul Ryan.
We need a team that is in the trenches NOW fighting for all of us who are fiscally and socially conservative, not just when the 2012 election cycle rolls around.  ~B.K., Keller

I like Chris Christie Gov of NJ right now for POTUS. But he has made clear he won't run. Also think we need a little more time to see how he does.  ~J.T., NE Tarrant Cty

Running for president in 2012?  Chris Christie?  Jim DeMint?  Eric Cantor?  Michelle Bachman?  Jeb Bush?  I think they all have great potential.  ~K.M., Southlake

Addressing Young Students.pdf

Posted July 19th, 2010 by "Yawn"

Please download and share this very important reply from Don Woods to a student’s astute political questions: Addressing Young Students.pdf

Dear Young Student,

All these current issues you raise — government intercepts of communication, costs of health care, mosque construction at the World Trade Center, deciding whether either Iraq or Afghanistan were “just wars,” and, of course, government spending — can be addressed. But they are not the bigger issue. Sometimes we are so close to the issues, we can’t see our way. We need an overview. So, as a student of history and theology, a husband of over 30 years, a father of four mature sons, and an owner of two businesses and a part-time ministry, I will educate you. Here we go! Follow me, Grasshopper!

Obama Stole the Democratic Primary

Posted July 13th, 2010 by "Yawn"

You have probably heard about this documentary made by a Hillary Democrat explaining how Obama cheated throughout the primaries in the caucuses and at the polling places by intimidation and rule breaking.

Below is an article about this documentary and You Tube clips to see it yourself. So far, only Fox will report this story.
