Foxnews.com published this report today:
Federal Judge Blocks Part of Arizona Immigration Law
A federal judge on Wednesday blocked some of the toughest provisions in the Arizona immigration law, putting on hold the state’s attempt to enforce federal immigration policy.
Though the rest of the law is still set to go into effect Thursday, the partial injunction on SB 1070 means Arizona, for the time being, will not be able to require police officers to determine the immigration status of anyone they stop or arrest.
People are outspoken on both sides of the law, but one thing is certain, Aliens coming into our borders illegally has to stop! For security, as well as, legal reasons.

An article by Roy Beck (Founder & CEO of NumbersUSA): Author of Fed’l 287(g) Law Says It Was Written to Allow State Laws Like Arizona’s was posted in NumbersUSA.com yesterday.
Rep. Lamar Smith has had it with so-called experts lying about what federal law allows for local enforcement of immigration rules.
In today’s Washington Post, he takes to task the immigration chiefs of the past two Presidents (one Republican and one Democrat) who have joined others in distorting the purpose of the “287(g)” local enforcement program, which is something of a model for the Arizona law that is scheduled to take effect later this week but is also tied up in federal court.

Please download and share this very important reply from Don Woods to a student’s astute political questions: Addressing Young Students.pdf
Dear Young Student,
All these current issues you raise — government intercepts of communication, costs of health care, mosque construction at the World Trade Center, deciding whether either Iraq or Afghanistan were “just wars,” and, of course, government spending — can be addressed. But they are not the bigger issue. Sometimes we are so close to the issues, we can’t see our way. We need an overview. So, as a student of history and theology, a husband of over 30 years, a father of four mature sons, and an owner of two businesses and a part-time ministry, I will educate you. Here we go! Follow me, Grasshopper!

This is an excellent article by Eric Shawn of FoxNews: It’s Your Land: Utah Fights Back
Here is an excerpt:
“You’ve got a federal government that is stopping us from even developing our own private lands and our state trust lands here in Utah,” he laments, saying there is “way too much control from a federal bureaucracy from 2,000 miles away that has no idea what our lifestyle is about here. It’s really caused us great problems here in the state of Utah and throughout the West.”
That is why Utah officials say they are fighting back.
Noel supports a new state law, signed by fellow Republican Governor Gary Herbert, that calls for the state to use the power of eminent domain to claim federal land. Eminent domain is routinely used by state and local governments to force the sale of private land for public projects, and even for private development. But in this case, Utah officials are turning the tables to return what they say, is theirs.
