Patriots,
If you’re like me, you are on pins and needles about tomorrow!  We all have high hopes, but nothing is guaranteed.  Join us at our Election Night Poll-Watching Party and we’ll rejoice in the victories together!  It’s at the Feedstore BBQ in Southlake from 5pm until ???.  If you’re working the polls, join us afterwards – we’ll still be there!  KSKY will be there, and NETTP will be awarding raffle prizes every 30 minutes starting at 7pm.  Full details are here:  http://www.netarrantteaparty.com/2010/10/nov-2-join-us-at-our-election-night-poll-watching-party/
Work First, Play Later…
But before we party, there is still much work to do even today!  We’ve seen races won by just a handful of votes, so every call you make and every door you knock on today WILL make a difference tomorrow.  There are some great conservative candidates out there who could use your help in making phone calls from the comfort of your own home.  How hard is that??  Make one call.  Make 5 calls.  Make as many calls as you can, but DO SOMETHING!  Remember… no regrets on Wednesday morning!  If you need help finding a candidate to make calls for, email me.  I’ll be happy to share my preferences.  :-)
Not On My Watch!
On Tuesday if you’re at the polls voting or working, keep an eye on what you see.  Bring a camera phone just in case you need to document anything.  If you see anything suspicious, even if you’re not sure about it, call 888-775-8117.  Program that number into your phone right now.  This line will be staffed by attorneys to handled polling issues and possible voter fraud or intimidation.  You can also call just for free advice if you have questions about something you’re witnessing.
Another option to report voter fraud is to download a new voter fraud app for your phone:  http://americanmajorityaction.org/voterfraudapp/.  It’s our responsibility as American citizens to guard our election process.  Do your part!
Celebrate Good Times!
See ya at the party!  Again, the details are here:  http://www.netarrantteaparty.com/2010/10/nov-2-join-us-at-our-election-night-poll-watching-party/.  Join us!
Thanks,
Julie McCarty

The Election Battle Has Begun!!!

Posted October 18th, 2010 by "Yawn"

Today, October 18th, 2010, the election began and somewhere we have already lost votes !!!

It is our responsibility to get the vote out or the Progressive Liberals will do it for us !!!

Early voting is going on now and we are losing votes by the second…

NOW is time to call the campaigns and volunteer to make calls, pass out flyers and talk to the folks in the shopping line.

Don’t be lulled into thinking that the war is won because you placed you vote.  Time is running out. People want to hear the truth, and if you don’t tell them, CNN will not!!!

Are You a Bench Warmer or a Home Run Hitter? Decide Now!!!

Posted October 14th, 2010 by "Yawn"

In a recent column posted on the front page of RedState.com, our good friend Raz Shafer posts the following challenge to every tea partier:

Everybody has lives, friends, families and responsibilities that take up our time but we also face the same question: What will you do for the good of your country?

If Thomas Jefferson had decided to hang out at Monticello instead of drafting the Declaration of Independence where would we be today? If Paul Revere hadn’t given up some sleep to make his midnight ride what would be different about our nation? If George Washington had thought that leaving the British military was just too much of a career risk what flag would we salute?

These are questions that all tea partiers need to ask themselves this election season.  This is an absolutely critical time in the history of our nation.  Many tea partiers are finding time in their busy lives to engage their neighbors and get out the vote.  Others are warming the bench, crossing their fingers and hoping for the best.  Which best describes you?

This election season is a golden opportunity to actively engage in the American political experiment, to reach out to your friends and neighbors and get them involved.

Please don’t let this opportunity pass you by.  The stakes are simply too important for apathy and inaction.

If you’re not interested in sitting this one out, SIGN UP here to get involved : http://tinyurl.com/dtpgotv

Congressman Marchant Cosponsors Border Enforcement Act

Posted October 5th, 2010 by Julie
Texas Members Call on Feds to Secure the Border
Poe Legislation Requires Defense Department to Authorize 10,000 National Guard Troops & Pay for Deployment

Today, Congressman Ted Poe (TX-02) was joined by 20 members of Congress to announce the National Guard Border Enforcement Act.  This bill will authorize the Secretary of Defense to make 10,000 National Guard troops available upon request from a U.S. Governor.  In addition, these troops will be paid for by the federal government and serve under the command of the requesting governor.

In response to the federal government’s failure to answer the repeated requests of Governor Perry and other border state governors to protect our international borders, the National Guard Border Enforcement Act will ensure that border state governors have the needed resources to protect their citizens from the ongoing border related violence.
Is your congressman on this list?
Original cosponsors of the National Guard Border Enforcement Act include: Rep. Lamar Smith (TX-21), Rep. Pete Sessions (TX-32), Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22), Rep. Sam Johnson (TX-03), Rep. John Carter (TX-31), Rep. Kay Granger (TX-12), Rep. Kenny Marchant (TX-24), Rep. Ralph Hall (TX-04), Rep. Ed Royce (CA-40), Rep. Joe Barton (TX-06), Rep. John Culberson (TX-07), Rep. Louie Gohmert (TX-01), Rep. Kevin Brady (TX-08), Rep. Michael McCaul (TX-10), Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (MD-06), Rep. Pete Hoekstra (MI-02), Rep. John Shadegg (AZ-03), Rep. John Fleming (LA-04), Rep. Sam Graves (MO-06) and Rep. Dana Rohrabacher  (CA-46).

Volunteers Who Can Make Calls from Home Sought by Broden for Congress Campaign

Posted October 2nd, 2010 by "Yawn"

Although the NE Tarrant Tea Party cannot endorse or campaign for any candidates, we do recognize that a large number of our members are supporting Stephen Broden.  In light of that, we wanted to make known to you an opportunity…

The campaign of Pastor Stephen Broden for the 30th US Congressional District is opening a new call center in Richardson and is urgently seeking volunteers to man the phones.

They are also seeking volunteers who can access the voter records online, from the campaign's database, and make calls from home. Calls would be made to voters in that district to urge them to vote for Pastor Broden and defeat Eddie Bernice Johnson.

This is not as difficult as it sounds as it only requires your casual conversation and pre-written scripts. You are not selling anything, just requesting their vote.

I am a Broden for Congress Phone Team Captain so please:

Videos from Saturday’s Potluck

Posted September 27th, 2010 by Julie

If you missed Saturday’s potluck, you do NOT want to miss watching the videos from our guest speakers.   Bill Flores and Stephen Broden both spoke, and both received constant interuptions for applause and a standing ovation at the end.  While the two have very different styles in front of a crowd, both had important things to share with us.  Listen in!

Bill Flores is ahead in the polls but is running the campaign as if he’s in last place.  Don’t count your chickens before they hatch, right?  If you want more information on the Flores campaign, would like to donate, or would like to volunteer, please visit his website.  And don’t forget to email juliemccarty3@yahoo.com if you can help block walk on Oct 16!

Stephen Broden was on fire Saturday night.  A 20-minute presentation turned into 40 minutes, and everyone was hanging on every word.  If you’ve heard Broden speak several times, you still have not heard this!  Broden needs a lot of help in his district if he’s going to win.  Go to his website to learn about his campaign, how to donate, and how to volunteer.  And don’t forget to email dawn_neuman@msn.com if you want to help block walk!

Thank you to Tom Moore for condensing the following information for our members…

The population of Texas exceeds 24 million people and is second only to California. According to the Census Bureau, 10 of the 25 fastest growing counties are in Texas, and Dallas and Tarrant Counties are among them. The biggest contributing factor to Texas’ growth is net migration, both domestic and foreign. Texas also has a high birth rate versus deaths. When the federal government re-apportions the 435 members of the U.S. House, Texas population growth will entitle Texas to 3 or 4 new Congressional Districts. The State Redistricting process is about to begin and will be a major focus for the legislature when it meets next year during its 82nd session. The official hearing panels include three members each from the Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence Committees and they will assume joint responsibilities with the Redistricting Committee. Other members may attend and participate.

Eddie Bernice Johnson finds no one in her district worthy of scholarships… except her family

Posted August 30th, 2010 by Julie

The following story comes from the Dallas Morning News.  You can read it in its entirety here.

Longtime Dallas congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson has awarded thousands of dollars in college scholarships to four relatives and a top aide’s two children since 2005, using foundation funds set aside for black lawmakers’ causes.

The recipients were ineligible under anti-nepotism rules of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, which provided the money. And all of the awards violated a foundation requirement that scholarship winners live or study in a caucus member’s district.

Johnson, a Democrat, denied any favoritism when asked about the scholarships last week. Two days later, she acknowledged in a statement released by her office that she had violated the rules but said she had done so “unknowingly” and would work with the foundation to “rectify the financial situation.”

Initially, she said, “I recognized the names when I saw them. And I knew that they had a need just like any other kid that would apply for one.” Had there been more “very worthy applicants in my district,” she added, “then I probably wouldn’t have given it” to the relatives.

NETTP note:  Eddice Bernice Johnson is up for re-election against conservative Pastor Stephen Broden.

Tea Party’s Wins Should Warn GOP

Posted August 30th, 2010 by "Yawn"

GOP must re-examine itself after. Tea Party candidates, primary surprises:

From FoxNews’, the Journal Editorial Report with Paul Gigot:

http://video.foxnews.com/v/4323647/lessons-from-primary-surprises/

For a Republican party of old ideas, their new reality hit home when a group of activists that the GOP in Texas were originally refusing a seat at the convention table won the chairmanship by a landslide. Steve Munisteri handily beat the entrenched insider candidate Cathie Adams and the time came to open up or shutdown. With most newcomers to the elephant party overtly Tea Partier or 9-12ers, the GOP has lots of explaining to do. But with more political races within the GOP’s own ranks being won by those coming out of this new breed of revolutionary party, we may see the demise of the Grand Old Party and the birth of a Grand Awakened Party.

It’s been contemplated to bring the Tea Party into a legitimate political party, but it sees we are doing quite well by working from within the party of Lincoln who abolished slavery. We must bring the Constitution forward by taking people back to the simplicity of the divinely inspired document that is more life directives than prose… living simply by paying as we go and spending only as we need while limiting the federal government to a part time body, who settles disputes between states and providing a professional military to protect our borders, as it was originally intended.

Our goals are simple, but the road will be hard. We need to live that way ourselves, then find like-minded individuals who have the wherewithal to stand firm against temptations, evil attacks from our rivals and the deceptions of the media. In doing so we can all fight city hall, now overtaken by tyrants and cheats.
