This map is VERY IMPORTANT.  It shows the make-up of Texas Senate & House districts, as well as precincts.  Here’s how to use it:

After opening the link:  gis1.tlc.state.tx.us, you need to FIRST click either “Districts” or “Precincts”, whichever you are looking for, that is located in the upper right hand corner of the page.   Then go to the top left side of the page and click on “Select Plans”.  From the drop down menu click on “base plan”.  Then click on “Find”.  From that drop down menu click on “Precinct” or “District”, and select one of those.  A pop up will appear on the Texas map.  If you selected “Precinct”, the pop up will list counties.  Find your county and click on that.  Then find your precinct number and click on that.  Then click “Find”.  This will show you the make-up of your precinct.  When you select “District”,  a pop up will appear on the Texas map as well, but this time it will list either congressional districts or senate districts for you to choose from.  Select one of these and the map will show you those districts.  Utilize this!
