2012 Primary Candidates
Below is a listing of candidates that are running in the Republican primary process in the areas that the NE Tarrant Tea Party covers. We will be adding the state race candidates as they file, so PLEASE keep comin’ back!
PLEASE look at each candidate and their website, but don’t stop there! The NETTP website is also chock full of information – including legislative scorecards from various conservative groups that help you know how the incumbent’s records compare to their rhetoric. See here for U.S. candidates, and here for state candidates. Check these out! Also, the NETTP has scheduled debates and townhalls with these candidates so please check our calendar for the dates and plan on attending!
And please know – a primary election is the first and most important step in the process of electing a candidate to office. Many voters unfortunately do not realize this. This is when each vote counts the most, because it gives people the ability to decide who the best candidate is in their particular party. The primary election campaigns are when voters get to know about all the candidates. Voters get to hear from several Republican and Democratic candidates, plus the candidates of third parties. After the primary elections, however, voters hear mainly about the platforms of exactly two candidates — one Republican and one Democrat. Unfortunately, many people skip the primary election and only vote in the general election, many of them complaining that their party’s candidate is not the one they would have chosen. The NE Tarrant Tea Party wants this to stop! We are working hard to keep you informed and engaged during the primary process so that we can elect the candidate that best reflects our conservative principles.
Texas’ primary election day is March 6th, 2012 has now been moved to April 3rd, 2012 because of a redistricting lawsuit that won’t be looked at until the beginning of January.
