NETTP Tea-Mail, October 20, 2010

Posted October 20th, 2010 by Julie
Patriots,
Early voting has begun and records are already being broken with the large numbers of voter turnout!  Our "Get Voter Info Here" page on our website is our hottest webpage and the hits on it continue to grow.  Do you know what this tells me?  The NETTP volunteers who stepped up to pass out voter information flyers with links to www.NETarrantTeaParty.com have done a great job following through… and people are responding!  Thanks to all those who have labored and are still laboring in their neighborhoods on behalf of NETTP to get out the vote!  You ARE making a difference, and that is what the tea party is all about.  I'd love it if ALL of our members would email that link to everyone they know in Tarrant County!  And it's not too late to pass out flyers in YOUR neighborhood.  Email me if you're interested.  (It's not to late to put yard signs up either.  Email robbins.nancy@commonsensecitizens.net to buy yours for just $8.25).

Poll Workers
Your presence is needed.  Election fraud is rampant and we all know it –
  • people bussed from poll to poll to vote,
  • some precincts reporting 100% turnout or more than 100% turnout,
  • stuffing the ballot box,
  • dead people voting.

If you want to have a big impact on the elections and can volunteer to poll watch during early voting or on Election Day, your presence can make a difference. Email me for details.

Another option is to pick a local candidate and ask them where they need you.  (If you can't think of a candidate, just email me and I'll help you).  On election day (and during early voting), that candidate will want every polling site covered with someone handing out flyers.  You can also volunteer for NETTP and hand out our flyers to every voter.  The opportunities are endless.

Election Day is our time to shine.  What a waste if we don't take full advantage of it!  As I keep saying, we don't want to have any regrets on the morning of Nov 3!  Work, work, work now.  Sacrifice.  It WILL pay off.

Lights, Camera, Action!
If you volunteered to work at the polls in any capacity PLEASE remember to bring your camcorder!  If your phone has video capabilities, learn how to use it!  Do you remember back in the primary elections how Vicki Truitt paid the firefighter union guys to stand outside and electioneer for her?  Oh, how I wish we had video of that!  Those guys didn't know anything about her and most of them couldn't even vote for her, yet there they were, taking a stand for Truitt because their union told them to.  That's just one example of stuff we need to start documenting.  Keep an eye on what's going on at the polls.  You never know what you may see, and this time we'll be ready to expose it.

NETTP's VICTORY CELEBRATION!
This is the announcement I've been dying to share with you, and it's finally here!  We have an exciting event planned for Election Night (Nov 2).  Come watch the results with other tea partiers at The Feedstore BBQ in Southlake.  KSKY's Jon David Wells will broadcast live from 5-10pm, and NE Tarrant Tea Party will be sponsoring a raffle every 30 minutes from 7pm and on (one entry per person, must be present to win).  If you are working the polls until late, come on over when you're done!  We'll be there!  The restaurant has offered to stay open as long as they have business.  Buy a BBQ dinner and celebrate conservative victories with NETTP!  We've worked hard — we deserve a party!  Click here for full detailsOh, and BTW, the radio station has invited FOX News to cover the party.

Oct 28:  American Fiscal Insanity
Our next meeting is Thursday night, Oct 28, from 6:30-8pm at 1060 E Highland in Southlake (in the gym of Highland Meadow Montessori Academy).  Dennis McCuistion will give us "A Look at American Fiscal Insanity".  To get you ready for this great presentation, check out this video.  It's short and fun and easy to understand… and it explains why we've all joined the tea party in the first place.

The Election Battle Has Begun!!!

Posted October 18th, 2010 by "Yawn"

Today, October 18th, 2010, the election began and somewhere we have already lost votes !!!

It is our responsibility to get the vote out or the Progressive Liberals will do it for us !!!

Early voting is going on now and we are losing votes by the second…

NOW is time to call the campaigns and volunteer to make calls, pass out flyers and talk to the folks in the shopping line.

Don’t be lulled into thinking that the war is won because you placed you vote.  Time is running out. People want to hear the truth, and if you don’t tell them, CNN will not!!!

A Message From David Barton of Wallbuilders…

As a conservative wave sweeps the nation, I wanted to share with you some important information related to efforts to thwart this conservative progress in Texas.

Earlier this summer in a previous piece, I documented how Democrats were able to choose the current liberal Republican Joe Straus as Speaker of the House, and how that under him, many popular conservative measures were killed in the last legislature, including Voter ID (which had a 90% support rate among Republicans) and a very popular pro-life bill (which had nearly 70% support). Both measures had already passed the Republican Senate and Governor Perry was waiting to sign them, but these (and many other conservative measures) were killed in the House by the Republican Speaker and his liberal lieutenants.

Interestingly, an independent political science professor has now statistically proven just how successful the Democrats have been under this Republican Speaker. Dr. Mark Jones of Rice University has authoritatively documented that the Democrats passed more of their agenda under Republican Speaker Joe Straus than they did when Democrat Pete Laney was their Speaker.

The reason that this occurred is because the Republicans as a collective body did not select Republican Speaker Joe Straus, which is the standard procedure in every other Republican legislative body across the nation. Instead, a "Gang of 11" liberal Republicans joined with the Democrat minority to create a working majority and elect liberal Republican Joe Straus as House Speaker – that is, he was the choice of Democrats more than of Republicans. Since Speaker Straus is beholden to the Democrats to keep his position, he facilitates their agenda, as proved by Dr. Jones.

The State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) of the Republican Party of Texas just passed a resolution calling on Republican members of the State House to select their Speaker in Republican Caucus and then carry that selection to the floor of the House and pass it there. In this manner, Republicans rather than Democrats will select the Republican Speaker of the Republican-controlled House. If the Republicans in caucus choose Joe Straus as their Speaker, that is fine; at least the decision will have been made by Republicans rather than Democrats.

Regrettably, however, following the passage of that common-sense resolution by the State Party, Speaker Straus's liberal Republicans called the State Party and threatened to withhold $170,000 they had pledged unless the Party rescinded its call for a Republican Speaker to be chosen by Republicans.

Republicans have worked too hard to allow a handful of liberal Republican State Representatives to give the House over to Democrats. In fact, in this election, there will be a significant increase in the number of conservative Republicans elected to the House, making it even more important that the Speaker be chosen by Republicans. In order for our last decade of hard work in electing conservative Republicans to not go to waste, I urge you to:

1.    Contact your state representative.
2.    Send them a copy of the SREC resolution.
3.    Ask your Representative publicly to announce their support of the resolution for Republicans to select the Republican Speaker by signing on to the website provided for that purpose.

Texas has become the envy of the nation by enacting conservative economic and social policies in the legislature. Let's not let liberal Republicans join with Democrats to stop that progress. Please act today to contact your state representative. After all, what is controversial about Republicans simply meeting together, deciding who will be the Speaker candidate, and emerging with a single voice?  What could be more unifying?

Please act today. And please share this information with your conservative friends.

God bless!

David Barton

NETTP Sound Off: Who Do You Want To Run For President In 2012?

Posted October 14th, 2010 by Julie

Here's what our members are saying (unedited) about their hopes for President in 2012…

I'm not sure yet… too many unknowns…

    - Gov Christie from NJ – (but not going to happen)
    - I'm not sure Sarah Palin is the right choice.. too polarizing
    - Romney – Maybe
    - Huckabee- I think he has some hurdles to get past

No one is standing out for me yet…     ~T.L., Grapevine

I suspect that the reason for "no respose" for presidential candidate is that we are all looking for another Reagan. Perhaps one will shine in the future. All we have as of now is Palin and I don't know if she is strong enough.   ~A.Z., Bedford

Newt Gingrich, Paul Ryan  ~ J.J., Euless

I'm wanting to know more about Paul Ryan and other promising people. I honestly could not vote for Sarah Palin. Like her but just can't wrap my mind around her as President at this point-in-time. Jendal would be good but doubt he could win. ~ N.W., North Richland Hills

My dream ticket:  Congresswoman Michele Bachmann/Congressman, Eric Cantor or Congressman Paul Ryan.
We need a team that is in the trenches NOW fighting for all of us who are fiscally and socially conservative, not just when the 2012 election cycle rolls around.  ~B.K., Keller

I like Chris Christie Gov of NJ right now for POTUS. But he has made clear he won't run. Also think we need a little more time to see how he does.  ~J.T., NE Tarrant Cty

Running for president in 2012?  Chris Christie?  Jim DeMint?  Eric Cantor?  Michelle Bachman?  Jeb Bush?  I think they all have great potential.  ~K.M., Southlake

Party of Food Stamps?

Posted October 14th, 2010 by Julie

Submitted by NETTP member G.C., Keller…

Every now and then you read something that puts your jaw on the floor.  This happened to me a couple of days ago.  Apparently the latest statistics show that the food stamp recipients have grown to a record 41.8 million in 2010.  This prompted Newt Gingrich to label the Democrats as the party of food stamps.  Nancy Pelosi’s response is below.  I’ve highlighted the jaw-dropping comment.

On another note, what economist told her that for every dollar spent on food stamps will put $1.79 back into the economy?  If that is the case, why don’t they print $10 trillion dollars and give it to everyone in the form of food stamps.  Then the economy will ramp up to $17.9 Trillion in no time at all.  Of course, that is the same argument they made with the $800 Billion so-called “stimulus” bill last year.  Guess that didn’t work out so well.

Pelosi fires back at Gingrich over food stamps

(CNN) – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Wednesday strongly defended her party's support of the federal food stamp program – a day after former Republican Speaker Newt Gingrich argued that GOP candidates should use the growing number of people on food stamps against Democrats on the campaign trail.

At a press conference in her home town of San Francisco, Pelosi explained that the program's multiplier effect –the amount of money generated in the local economy as the result of the subsidy– far exceeds the nearly $60 billion spent this year by the federal government and is a sure-fire way to stimulate the economy. For every dollar a person receives in food stamps, Pelosi said that $1.79 is put back into the economy. The U.S. Department of Agriculture cites an even higher figure of $1.84.

"It is the biggest bang for the buck when you do food stamps and unemployment insurance. The biggest bang for the buck," she said.
Gingrich on Tuesday wrote a letter critical of the Democrats' stewardship of the economy and urged all Republican candidates to shape the political debate as one "between the Democratic Party of food stamps and the Republican Party of paychecks."

"It is an unassailable fact that in June, more food stamps were distributed by the government than ever before in American history. (It turns out that Barack Obama's idea of spreading the wealth around was spreading more food stamps around.)," wrote Gingrich.

The number of Americans receiving food stamps rose to a record 41.8 million in July and approximately one in eight Americans participate in the program, according to the USDA, with the average household subsidy receiving $294 a month.

Are You a Bench Warmer or a Home Run Hitter? Decide Now!!!

Posted October 14th, 2010 by "Yawn"

In a recent column posted on the front page of RedState.com, our good friend Raz Shafer posts the following challenge to every tea partier:

Everybody has lives, friends, families and responsibilities that take up our time but we also face the same question: What will you do for the good of your country?

If Thomas Jefferson had decided to hang out at Monticello instead of drafting the Declaration of Independence where would we be today? If Paul Revere hadn’t given up some sleep to make his midnight ride what would be different about our nation? If George Washington had thought that leaving the British military was just too much of a career risk what flag would we salute?

These are questions that all tea partiers need to ask themselves this election season.  This is an absolutely critical time in the history of our nation.  Many tea partiers are finding time in their busy lives to engage their neighbors and get out the vote.  Others are warming the bench, crossing their fingers and hoping for the best.  Which best describes you?

This election season is a golden opportunity to actively engage in the American political experiment, to reach out to your friends and neighbors and get them involved.

Please don’t let this opportunity pass you by.  The stakes are simply too important for apathy and inaction.

If you’re not interested in sitting this one out, SIGN UP here to get involved : http://tinyurl.com/dtpgotv

White vs. Perry

Posted October 8th, 2010 by Julie

Here’s one thought on the Texas Governor’s race.  Opinions among Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians and Independents are all over the place.

BECKELS #1 UPSET PICK:
WHITE WILL DEFEAT PERRY!
This morning, on Fox News America’s Newsroom with Bill Hemmer, Fox contributor Bob Beckle issued his number one pick for upset of the election: Bill White will defeat Governor Rick Perry for Governor of Texas.
Unfortunately, this is simply another story concerning the same issue that we have been warning Texas about for months.
Most experts agree that the ACORN factor will run around the 3% figure. The fly in the ointment is the 18% of Republicans that are either undecided or have made the decision to vote for White to punish Perry for an issue or two they are upset about. If you will excuse a saying from comedian and fellow Texan Ron White, You Can’t Fix Stupid!
For those Republicans that are truly undecided (and I cannot believe we are even having to point this out at this date), possibly a refresher course is needed to remind you of just EXACTLY who Bill White is:
  • Bill White is anti-gun and supports gun control. He was one of only two mayors in Texas that joined New York Mayor Bloomberg’s anti-gun group. He later resigned when he found out how far out on that limb he had gone. His excuse for resigning: he didn’t know what he was joining. And this is a man who wants to be Governor of the greatest state in the nation;
  • Bill White OPPOSSES the constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage;
  • Bill White personally made Houston one of the largest Sanctuary City populations in the country;
  • Bill White supports ObamaCare;
  • Bill White supports Cap and Trade. Barack Obama said, ‘Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket,’ and Bill White believes that cap and trade doesn’t go far enough;
  • Bill White’s tenure as Houston’s mayor is a scandal, to say the least. He raided pension funds to pay for highly questionable programs that HE instigated while Mayor. His part in Metro-Gate is known by everyone in the administration, although he denies any part in it. Those who do their homework on this issue will find that the money trail in this mess leads straight to Bill White! The bills he left when departing as Mayor are astronomical and have been verified by Houston’s current Mayor, at least up until recently when the Obama ground troops essentially told her to shut-up. ANYONE who cares to look into the specifics of White’s tenure in Houston can find it all over the internet. The details are simply too long to go into here.
  • Considering the above, it is no wonder that Bill White has no intention of releasing his tax returns;
  • Bill White REFUSES to commit to not raise taxes on Texans;
  • The retired Ernst & Young accountants, who conducted an unofficial audit of Houston’s finances after the Bill White term, determined that Bill White may have led the City to the brink of bankruptcy;
  • Bill White has repeatedly stated that military men and women should have a say in races for President, Vice President or Congress; however, they should not be able to vote in the state, county or local elections;
  • Bill White supports the Obama regimes EPA grab of Texas emission laws. If this grab is successful, tens of thousands of Texas jobs will be lost;
  • Bill White is a trial lawyer and opposes lawsuit reforms (imagine that!).
And this is the man that some of our Republicans are undecided about because they are upset with Rick Perry about one or two issues? This kind of thinking folks, is EXACTLY how we wound up with Barrack Obama!
