Federal Judge Blocks Part of Arizona Immigration Law
A federal judge on Wednesday blocked some of the toughest provisions in the Arizona immigration law, putting on hold the state’s attempt to enforce federal immigration policy.
Though the rest of the law is still set to go into effect Thursday, the partial injunction on SB 1070 means Arizona, for the time being, will not be able to require police officers to determine the immigration status of anyone they stop or arrest.
People are outspoken on both sides of the law, but one thing is certain, Aliens coming into our borders illegally has to stop! For security, as well as, legal reasons.
In today’s Washington Post, he takes to task the immigration chiefs of the past two Presidents (one Republican and one Democrat) who have joined others in distorting the purpose of the “287(g)” local enforcement program, which is something of a model for the Arizona law that is scheduled to take effect later this week but is also tied up in federal court.
The NAACP’s July 13th resolution denouncing the Tea Party movement as ‘racist’ raises more doubts about the discernment and judgment of those who voted at the NAACP convention, than about the Tea Party itself.
As a proud black American and frequent speaker at Tea Party events all across the U.S., I can assure you that the Tea Party movement is not racist, and is instead dedicated to our founding principles; not the least of which are the ‘self evident’ truths that ‘all men are created equal’ and are ‘endowed by their Creator [not by government] with certain inalienable rights…’ .
Tea Party activists are among the strongest supporters of my campaign for US Congress. Never at any Tea Party event have I witnessed racially offensive conduct, signs or rhetoric. Supposed racist activity claimed by some may have even been introduced by infiltrators, intent on discrediting the Tea Party. Even if accusations of racism by a handful were proven; it would be wrong to denounce the entire Tea Party for the unendorsed actions of a few. This is a lesson NAACP leadership has learned and taught for a century.
What seems to have happened is that NAACP members who voted for the resolution fell victim to politically motivated deception perpetrated by liberals being criticized by Tea Partiers, and whose false accusations are repeated by a media willing to perpetuate such deception. The racial issue is a ‘red herring’ designed to create division and deflect from the real concerns of an overreaching, overspending, out-of-control liberal government.
Irresponsible accusations by the NAACP denigrate its reputation and undermine the legitimacy of claims made by true victims of racism. The NAACP ought to be more concerned about the devastating effects of liberal policies on many blacks in America; effects such as educational shortcomings, neighborhood violence, and a profit-seeking abortion industry that literally targets low income, black neighborhoods.
I stand with Americans of every race who reject the institutional elitists, and who insist that America return to its Constitutional roots. For that reason, I ask that you join the battle today by DONATING as much as possible, and by VOLUNTEERING to help in any way you can.
Thank You and God Bless the U.S.A.
Pastor Stephen Broden, Candidate for US Congress, Texas District 30.
On Monday night’s webinar the National Leadership Council of Tea Party Patriots voted overwhelmingly, to ask affiliated members of Tea Party Patriots to hold sign waving events for 1 hour on Thursday, July 29 to show our support of the people and State of Arizona on the day SB1070 goes into effect. If you cannot hold an event we ask that you put a sign in your car, truck, lawn, windows, or wherever you can to show your support for this law.
If you plan to stand at an intersection waving signs, please be sure to list it on TeaPartyPatriots.org so that other people near you can use the search zip by code feature to meet up with you. After logging to the site, from the homepage, click Submit an Event (in the right hand upper corner), fill out the form and click Submit Event. We will have people approving events quickly throughout the day.
Remember in Tea Party Patriots each member is empowered and encouraged to be a leader in the Tea Party Movement. This is a good time for those who might not have planned an event to step up and have a short 1 hour rally in support of Arizona, Gov. Brewer, and our country’s sovereignty.
Please forward this to your mailing lists, put it out through Facebook and Twitter and ask others in the movement and within your own circle of influence to stand with you in support of Arizona and our country’s sovereignty on Thursday, July 29th.
How far will our country go when they are playing with OUR rights, freedom, and dignity? Check out this video that informs Americans (from a non-American, who is equally worried about America) about the Muslim Mosque just feet away from Ground Zero that is being discussed to be built and possibly set to unveil on September 11, 2010 (according to the video). Administration officials say the tax argument is a linchpin of their legal case in defense of the health care overhaul and its individual mandate, now being challenged in court by more than 20 states and several private organizations.
Under the legislation signed by President Obama in March, most Americans will have to maintain “minimum essential coverage” starting in 2014. Many people will be eligible for federal subsidies to help them pay premiums.
In a brief defending the law, the Justice Department says the requirement for people to carry insurance or pay the penalty is “a valid exercise” of Congress’s power to impose taxes.
In the documentary, We Will Not be Silenced, Democrats talk about voter fraud and corruption in the 2008 Democrat Presidential Primary.
We are Americans, not angry liberals.
As Americans, we expect certain liberties and rights that were granted us by our forefathers, who wrote documents like the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. “We the people” expect that these fundamental rights will always be protected. However, in the current Democratic Presidential Primary, this has not been the case. We believe The Democratic National Committee (DNC) made a grave error by depriving American voters of their choice of Hillary Clinton as Democratic nominee. Senator Clinton, by all accounts, except caucuses, won the Primary Election and, therefore, should be the 2008 Democratic Nominee. That didn’t happen, due largely to illegitimate and illegal acts. We have interviews of many accounts from caucus states recounting threats, intimidation, lies, stolen documents, falsified documents, busing in voters in exchange for paying for “dinners,” etc. There are at least 2000 complaints, in Texas alone, of irregularities directed towards the Obama Campaign, that have lead to a very fractured and broken Democratic Party.
This documentary is about the disenfranchising of American citizens by the Democratic Party and the Obama Campaign. We the People have made this film. Democrats have sent in their stories from all parts of America. We want to be heard and let the country know how our party has sanctioned the actions of what we feel are Obama Campaign “Chicago Machine” dirty politics. We believe this infamous campaign of “change” from Chicago encouraged and created an army to steal caucus packets, falsify documents, change results, allow unregistered people to vote, scare and intimidate Hillary supporters, stalk them, threaten them, lock them out of their polling places, silence their voices and stop their right to vote, which is, of course, all documented in “We Will Not Be Silenced.”
“We Will Not Be Silenced” is about the people who fight back by simply telling their stories: Teachers, professors, civil rights activists, lawyers, janitors, physicists, ophthalmologists, accountants, mathematicians, retirees – all bound together by their love of America and Democracy. They will tell us their experiences and how they feel betrayed by their own party. They will discuss how their party has disenfranchised them and how, when they saw and reported multiple instances of fraud, everyone turned a blind eye. Rather than support and protect the voices and votes of its loyal members, the DNC chose to sweep this under the rug by looking the other way, or using ceremony and quasi-investigations to assuage angry voters. It is our opinion there never before has been such a “dirty” campaign; the campaign that has broken the hearts and spirits of American voters, who once believed in the Democractic voting system.
We are not angry liberals; we are disappointed Democrats, who love our country and feel the DNC needs to stand for truth, care about its voter base and stop committing actions worse than what we only thought possible of the worst Republicans. The DNC and the Obama Campaign need to be held accountable for the catastrophe of the 2008 Democratic Primary. We must right their wrongs…after all, this is America, the Land of the Free, where every American has the right to a fair, honest voting process, and to have his or her vote counted…
July 12th Arraignment of Four Christian Missionaries Arrested at the Dearborn, Michigan Arab Festival
Thursday July 8, 2010
People – D. Wood ANN ARBOR, MI – The arraignment of four Christian missionaries on criminal charges will take place on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. in the 19th Judicial District Court located at 16077 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn, Michigan. This is the next step in what has been described as police enforcement of Sharia law in a city dominated by a large Muslim population.
To the jeers and shouts of “Allah Akbar” by the Muslim crowd, the four Christian missionaries were arrested and thrown in jail on June 18, 2010 by Dearborn Police officers at the Annual Arab International Festival held in Dearborn. One of the arrested missionaries was Dr. Nabeel Qureshi, MD, who was engaged in peaceful dialogue with several Muslim youths. The other three missionaries, who were merely videotaping the conversation, had their cameras and other equipment illegally seized before police arrested them as well.
Police refused requests by the missionaries to view the video at the scene of their arrest, which the missionaries claimed would completely exonerate them of any wrongdoing.
The Thomas More Law Center, a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan is representing all of the Christian missionaries. Because District Judge Mark W. Somers required that all four defendants personally appear before him for the arraignment, the Law Center assisted with the costs of their travel from different parts of the country.
Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, commented, “It’s evident that the Dearborn Police department was more interested in placating Muslims than obeying our Constitution. These Christians were exercising their Constitutional rights to free speech and the free exercise of religion, but apparently in a city where the Muslim population seems to dominate the political apparatus, Sharia law trumps our Constitution.”
Thus far, police and prosecutors have refused to return the illegally seized cameras and video tapes. They have also refused to provide the Law Center with the police reports of the incident despite repeated requests.
Arrested on charges of Breach of the Peace are Negeen Mayel, Dr. Nabeel Qureshi, Paul Rezkalla and David Wood. Mayel, an eighteen-year old female whose parents emigrated from Afghanistan and a recent convert from Islam to Christianity, was also charged with failure to obey a police officer’s orders. She was at least 100 feet away and videotaping Qureshi’s discussion with the Muslim youths when police seized her camera.
Thompson added, “Not all police officers approve of the way their department treated these Christians.”
Robert Muise, Senior Trial Counsel with the Law Center, will represent the Christian missionaries at the arraignment on Monday.

Dear Young Student,
All these current issues you raise — government intercepts of communication, costs of health care, mosque construction at the World Trade Center, deciding whether either Iraq or Afghanistan were “just wars,” and, of course, government spending — can be addressed. But they are not the bigger issue. Sometimes we are so close to the issues, we can’t see our way. We need an overview. So, as a student of history and theology, a husband of over 30 years, a father of four mature sons, and an owner of two businesses and a part-time ministry, I will educate you. Here we go! Follow me, Grasshopper!
